The banter between Toronto and Seattle expanded beyond baseball on Saturday as Seattle’s hockey squad playfully teased Toronto Blue Jays supporters. The Seattle Kraken made an entrance at Scotiabank Arena donning Seattle Mariners jerseys, showing support for the city’s baseball team as they approach Game 6 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) against the Jays. Engaging on social media, the Kraken posted messages such as “walk in the 6ix, takeover the 6ix” and “SEATTLE OVER EVERYBODY.”
In a subsequent match, the team triumphed over the Maple Leafs 4-3 on the ice. Following a strong offensive performance in Game 5, the Mariners now lead the best-of-seven series 3-2 after defeating the Toronto Blue Jays 6-2. The Blue Jays are set to clash with Seattle once more on Sunday night for a crucial Game 6 at Rogers Centre.
