Drake to Host Exclusive Apology Event for Janices
Janices who may have felt offended by Drake’s track, “Janice STFU,” are in for a surprise as the Toronto rapper is planning an exclusive apology party just for them, requiring a valid government-issued ID for entry.
In an Instagram post, Drake announced the forthcoming event, extending invitations to Janices in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto, and Houston. Physical invitations have been sent out to Janices in Toronto, with the option for those missed to RSVP by email at JSTFU@DRAKERELATED.COM.
To attend the soiree, guests must present government-issued photo identification proving their legal first name is Janice, without any variations like nicknames or surnames. The initiative stems from Drake’s chart-topping single, “Janice STFU,” featured on his album “ICEMAN.”
The song debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, marking Drake’s 14th chart-topping hit and surpassing Michael Jackson’s record for the most No. 1 hits by a male solo artist. The track was part of a surprise triple-album release consisting of “ICEMAN,” “Habibti,” and “Maid of Honour,” with a total of 42 songs charting on the Hot 100.
The Toronto event is scheduled for Sunday, June 28, from 1-4 p.m. ET at the Cactus Club on Adelaide St., offering Janices an exclusive opportunity to engage with the acclaimed artist.
