Certain models of Vesta tankless water heaters have been recalled due to concerns about carbon monoxide exposure. Vesta, Health Canada, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission jointly issued the recall after discovering cracked exhaust ducts in the heaters, which could lead to gas leakage inside homes, posing a serious risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Health Canada advises individuals with these heaters to cease use immediately and contact Vesta for a complimentary repair by a certified technician.
The recall affects VRS and VRP models, as well as specific VRS-Plus and VRP-Plus models. Vesta disclosed that 3,496 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between May 2017 and July 2025. No injuries or deaths have been reported in connection with the cracked ducts, with 10 cases reported in Canada and 33 in the United States.
Customers can reach Vesta for assistance via phone at 1-888-505-5525 or through email and the company’s website during business hours. Health Canada encourages consumers to report any incidents related to the product for safety monitoring purposes.
