A safety alert has been issued for Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens that were sold in the United States and Canada due to a risk of electric shock. The recall pertains to Flashxpress toaster ovens with model numbers NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, which can be located on the product label on the back of the toaster oven. The issue lies with the power cord of the toaster oven as there may be insufficient insulation, posing a potential hazard of electric shock or fire.
Panasonic, along with Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, have advised consumers to discontinue the use of the affected toaster ovens immediately and return them to the company for a refund. According to Panasonic, a total of 2,184 units of the affected products were sold in Canada, with approximately 11,500 units sold in the U.S. from November 2025 to March 2026. Health Canada confirmed as of June 15 that no injuries related to the power cord issue have been reported in Canada. In the U.S., Panasonic received five reports of circuit breakers tripping due to the toaster ovens but no injuries were reported.
