“Female Suspect at Large After Stabbings Near Yaletown Seawall”

Date:

Three individuals were stabbed near the Yaletown seawall in Vancouver on Friday morning, with the female suspect still at large, according to Vancouver police. The incident occurred close to David Lam Park at approximately 7:30 a.m. PT. The victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were promptly transported to a hospital, as confirmed by Vancouver Police Department spokesperson Const. Tania Visintin. It is believed that the stabbings were separate events possibly happening within minutes of each other.

Const. Tania Visintin mentioned to CBC News that the stabbings seemed unprovoked and random, with no prior altercations reported. The suspect is described as an Indigenous woman in her late 20s or early 30s, sporting long black hair in a ponytail and a slender physique. She was seen wearing a large black leather jacket, tight pants, and either a leopard-print shirt or scarf. Authorities are currently scouring the vicinity for surveillance footage to obtain a clearer image of the suspect.

Visintin acknowledged the apprehension felt by individuals who frequent the seawall, stating, “This is a very frightening incident for those that use the seawall and residents of the area.” She also stressed the potential severe emotional impact on victims following such a random attack. Visintin urged anyone with relevant information or video recordings to come forward and assist the police in their investigation.
