Toronto police have announced the charging of seven additional individuals for unlawfully operating drones over Rogers Centre during the Blue Jays’ post-season baseball matches. Authorities disclosed that the Toronto Emergency Management and Public Order Unit utilized advanced drone technology earlier this week to detect and intercept seven unauthorized drone flights in the vicinity of the baseball stadium during the Sunday and Monday games. The police have pressed eight charges against seven individuals for contravening the Canadian Aviation Regulations by flying drones and breaching federally designated no-fly zones. According to the drone policy at Rogers Centre, the stadium falls within the no-fly zone of the nearby Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Earlier this month, law enforcement fined two individuals for flying drones over the stadium during games. The Blue Jays are set to play Game 6 against the Seattle Mariners in the American League Championship Series at home on Sunday.
