Sarah J. Maas Unveils Release Dates for ACOTAR Sequels

Date:

Bestselling author Sarah J. Maas has finally revealed the release dates for two highly anticipated books in her popular romantasy series, A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR). During an interview on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, Maas shared that the sequel to 2021’s A Court of Silver Flames is set to launch on October 27, with a seventh installment scheduled for January 12, 2027.

Describing the new story as significantly impactful, Maas expressed her surprise at how the narrative unfolded as she delved into writing. The series, following the journey of three sisters in a captivating yet perilous Fae realm, will unfold across three books—ACOTAR 6, ACOTAR 7, and an additional unnamed installment—intended to be read as a cohesive, interconnected narrative rather than a traditional trilogy.

Maas, known for her bestsellers Crescent City and Throne of Glass, has amassed a global readership of over 75 million across 40 languages. Credited with popularizing the romantasy genre that gained momentum on platforms like BookTok during the pandemic, Maas continues to captivate audiences with her immersive storytelling.

Bloomsbury, Maas’s publisher, experienced a significant surge in shares following the announcement, illustrating the immense anticipation surrounding the upcoming releases. Nigel Newton, Bloomsbury’s chief executive, expressed enthusiasm for the unprecedented launch of two novels within a short span, emphasizing the remarkable achievement within the publishing realm.

Acknowledging the prolonged anticipation for the sixth ACOTAR installment, Maas reflected on the personal and creative journey that culminated in the forthcoming books. While withholding specific details about the titles and covers, Maas hinted at the complexity and expansiveness of the narrative, necessitating a multi-book approach to effectively convey the story’s depth.

Fans worldwide rejoiced at the long-awaited news, eagerly anticipating the continuation of the beloved characters’ journeys in the ACOTAR series. Expressing their excitement across various platforms, fans lauded Maas for delivering on their expectations and eagerly counting down to the release dates of the upcoming installments.
