Date:

Peabo Bryson, a renowned R&B singer who won Grammy awards and collaborated with artists such as Celine Dion and Regina Belle on Disney film duets, has passed away at the age of 75. His family expressed gratitude for the love and impact he had through his music career.

Aside from his Disney classics, Bryson was a prominent figure in the R&B genre with hits like “Feel the Fire,” “I’m So Into You,” and “Can You Stop the Rain” during his extensive five-decade career. Celine Dion, in a heartfelt tribute, highlighted the significance of their duet “Beauty and the Beast,” which won multiple Grammy and Academy Awards.

Born in South Carolina, Bryson worked with various record labels and collaborated with notable artists like Minnie Riperton and Natalie Cole. His success on the R&B charts with songs like “Tonight, I Celebrate My Love” and “Can You Stop the Rain” solidified his place in the music industry.

In 2018, Bryson released his album “Stand for Love” after an 11-year hiatus, followed by “Grace” in February 2022. Apart from music, he also ventured into stage productions and made a full recovery after a heart attack in 2019.

Unfortunately, Bryson suffered a stroke in late May, leading to his medical care. Colleagues and fans, including comedian Loni Love and R&B artists Jody Watley and Kenny Lattimore, paid tribute to his legacy online. Details regarding memorial arrangements will be shared by Bryson’s family at a later time.
