The Ottawa Redblacks have dismissed head coach Bob Dyce following a series of losses that capped off the season. The team’s sixth consecutive defeat prompted the decision, which was announced shortly after a 35-15 loss to Hamilton that eliminated Ottawa from the CFL playoffs, marking their fifth absence since the 2018 Grey Cup appearance.
Bob Dyce had been part of the Redblacks organization since 2016, initially serving as the special-teams coordinator before transitioning to head coach in 2022. While Dyce guided the team to a 9-8-1 record and a playoff spot last season after a five-year drought, this year’s performance saw a disappointing 4-14 record under his leadership. In his tenure as head coach, Dyce accumulated an 18-39-1 record.
General manager Shawn Burke acknowledged the challenging nature of the decision, commending Dyce’s dedication and strong work ethic throughout his time with the team.
