The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade commenced on Thursday in New York City, featuring new balloons like Buzz Lightyear and Pac-Man soaring in the sky, alongside traditional favorites such as Tom Turkey parading through the streets. The event, spanning from Manhattan’s Upper West Side to Macy’s Herald Square flagship store on 34th Street, showcased 34 balloons, 28 floats, 11 marching bands, and various other performers.
Spectators enjoyed watching the parade from balconies, witnessing iconic balloons like Stuart the Minion and Mario by Nintendo floating by. Renowned music artist Shaggy was among the 29 performers this year, seen on the Jennie-O float. The parade also included the debut of the Derpy Tiger balloon from “KPop Demon Hunters” and the space ranger Buzz Lightyear balloon captivating the crowd.
The festive atmosphere was captured as onlookers reacted enthusiastically to the spectacle, with people inside buildings getting a glimpse of the larger-than-life balloons passing through the city streets. Performers in colorful costumes and vibrant floats, including the Labubu float from Pop Mart, added to the lively procession. Macy’s Santa Claus made a grand appearance riding on Santa’s Sleigh, spreading holiday cheer along the parade route. Additionally, the Spider-Man balloon by Marvel added a touch of superhero magic to the event.
