Drake Unveils Triple Album Surprise: “Iceman,” “Habibti,” “Maid of Honour

Date:

After a series of mysterious hints, which included a massive display of ice blocks in downtown Toronto and a CN Tower takeover, Drake has officially released his highly anticipated ninth studio album, titled “Iceman.” Alongside this release, he surprised fans with two additional albums, “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour,” dropped simultaneously at midnight during a live stream event named “Iceman Episode 4.” In total, Drake unveiled 43 songs totaling around two and a half hours, with “Iceman” positioned as the central piece of this musical trilogy.

The concept of “Iceman” has been in the works for some time, with initial mentions dating back to August 2024, following Drake’s widely publicized rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. While touring Australia in 2025, Drake hinted that the album would serve as a direct conversation with his fans, emphasizing its significance.

Prior to this release, Drake had collaborated on the joint album “Some Sexy Songs 4 U” with PartyNextDoor in 2025. However, “Iceman,” “Habibti,” and “Maid of Honour” mark Drake’s first solo albums since “For all the Dogs” in 2023. With his status as a prominent figure in the rap scene and the pursuit of securing another number one hit to surpass Michael Jackson’s record, the stakes are high for Drake following his previous feud with Lamar.

The opening track of “Iceman,” titled “Make Them Cry,” immediately delves into the aftermath of his feud with Lamar, highlighting the impact it had on him. Throughout the album, Drake not only reflects on past events but also takes aim at various figures, including Lamar, DJ Khaled, A$AP Rocky, DeMmar DeRozan, LeBron James, and Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge. The album serves as a platform for Drake to address lingering issues and settle scores.

Incorporating various musical influences, Drake references past beefs and collaborations in tracks like “Make Them Pay” and “2 Hard 4 the Radio.” The album’s visuals also pay homage to Toronto, featuring iconic landmarks such as Sotto Sotto and the CN Tower, as well as Mayor Olivia Chow’s office at City Hall.

Moreover, Drake’s Canadian pride shines through in the music video for “Slap the City,” showcasing his affinity for Canadian brands and references to local cities and universities. The surprise albums, “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour,” offer a diverse range of sounds, from love songs to dancehall and U.K. rap, showcasing Drake’s versatility and musical evolution.

With “Iceman” serving as a platform for Drake to address his past and set the stage for his musical future, the triple album drop has definitely made a significant impact in the music industry and among his fans worldwide.
