Drake’s latest visual project, “Fear of Missing Out (FOMO),” delivered a diverse experience for his fans, introducing multiple new songs during its debut on Tuesday night. The rapper had teased the release as a “not so short film” on Instagram, and he certainly lived up to that description.
Spanning approximately an hour and streamed on platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and Apple, “FOMO” provided a glimpse into Drake’s extravagant summer lifestyle, showcasing scenes of him dancing in his lavish Toronto mansion, sharing moments with his mother and friends, and cruising on his luxurious lime-green speedboat against the Toronto skyline.
The video was filled with nods to Toronto and Canada, including a memorable sequence featuring Drake and fellow rapper Loe Shimmy donning $150,000 Iron Man suits at the Canadian National Exhibition. Numerous celebrities made cameo appearances, such as SexyyRed, Stunna Sandy, Winnie Harlow, Kevin Durant, and Lena the Plug.
In addition to the visual storytelling, “FOMO” also previewed new music, featuring unreleased tracks with artists like Don Toliver, PartyNextDoor, and Yeat. The film incorporated a total of nine fresh songs, including a much-anticipated remix of Ella Langley’s hit “Choosin’ Texas” by Drake.
During the Toronto premiere of “FOMO,” Drake revealed plans for a 2027 world tour, exciting his fans with the prospect of live performances in the near future. Despite the film being made private on YouTube after the initial broadcast, online reactions from viewers varied, with some praising Drake’s longevity in the music industry while others offered more critical perspectives.
Drake’s promotional strategy for “FOMO” included cryptic social media posts hinting at the project’s release, building anticipation among his followers. With a message of self-motivation and seizing opportunities, the rapper encouraged his audience to embrace new experiences and take risks, emphasizing the importance of personal growth and perseverance in the face of challenges.
