Actress Christina Ricci criticized Jimmy Fallon for featuring mixed martial artist Conor McGregor on his late-night show. McGregor, 37, was found liable for sexual assault at a 2018 Dublin party by an Irish civil court jury in 2024 and was ordered to pay the victim, Nikita Hand, 250,000 euros. Despite denying the assault and failed appeals, criminal charges were not pursued due to insufficient evidence. An EMT who examined Hand testified about the severity of her injuries.
Ricci, known for her roles in “The Addams Family” and “Monster,” reposted an Instagram story questioning Fallon’s decision to host McGregor, citing the brutal nature of the assault. McGregor is set to return to the UFC on July 11 against Max Holloway after a hiatus since 2021. During his recent appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” McGregor discussed his upcoming fight and past victories but avoided addressing his off-the-octagon controversies.
In addition to the 2018 incident, McGregor has faced allegations of assault at a Miami Heat game in 2023 and other assault-related accusations. McGregor, who once considered running for president of Ireland, withdrew due to poor polling. Despite his controversies, McGregor emphasized his passion for fighting during the show, highlighting it as his primary motivation. Ricci and Fallon’s representatives have not yet provided comments on the matter.
