Canada’s Brad Jacobs maintained a perfect 3-0 record at the Pan Continental Curling Championships by securing a convincing 14-6 victory over South Korea in Virginia, Minnesota. The Calgary-based team found themselves deadlocked at 5-5 after the first five ends, but surged ahead with four crucial points in the sixth end and an additional five points in the eighth end. Despite a strong start by South Korea’s Soo-Hyuk Kim, the Canadian team, consisting of Jacobs, vice-skip Marc Kennedy, second Brett Gallant, and lead Ben Hebert, showcased exceptional performance, collectively shooting at an impressive 93%, with Kennedy leading the pack at 95%.
In their upcoming match, Canada will be up against New Zealand’s Sean Becker, who has yet to secure a win in the tournament. Meanwhile, in the women’s competition, Ottawa’s Rachel Homan, with a record of 2-1, dominated Mexico’s Adriana Camarena with a commanding 9-3 victory, setting the pace early on by scoring three points in the first end.
Homan’s schedule includes two matches on Thursday, where she will face opponents from South Korea and China. The Pan Continental event serves as a regional qualifying tournament for the 2026 men’s and women’s world championships.
