“Health Canada Issues Recall for 104K Oster Toaster Ovens”

Date:

Health Canada has announced a safety recall for 104,195 toaster ovens in Canada due to a burn risk. Consumers are advised to discontinue use of Oster’s French door toaster countertop ovens immediately. The recall is due to the potential hazard of the French doors unexpectedly closing, posing a burn risk to users.

The affected models include TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDGDS, TSSTTVFDXLPP-033, and TSSTTVFDDAF-033, with the model number located on the back of the oven and on the original packaging. While no injuries or incidents have been reported in Canada as of September 22, there have been 95 reports in the United States, where over 1.2 million of these toaster ovens have been sold.

Consumers are instructed by Health Canada to contact Sunbeam Products Inc. to receive a free repair kit with installation instructions. The impacted products were sold between January 2015 and July 2025.
