U.S. singer Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce have officially tied the knot, according to Swift’s spokesperson, following days of anticipation leading up to their star-studded wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The couple, who had been keeping details of their wedding under wraps, chose not to have a traditional bridal party but had Swift’s brother and Kelce’s brother standing by their sides as the man of honor and best man, respectively.
The secrecy surrounding the event was lifted when a marquee outside the venue announced “JUST&MARRIED” after the ceremony. The wedding was attended by a host of celebrities from the sports and entertainment world, including Steven Spielberg, Camila Cabello, Hugh Grant, Ethan Hawke, Zoë Kravitz, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Cooper Kupp, and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Stevie Nicks performed at the event, which was described as intimate by hosts of Good Morning America who were in attendance. Adam Sandler, a friend of the couple, officiated the wedding. A permit issued for the event allowed for approximately 1,000 guests.
The Empire State Building illuminated in sparkling blue in honor of the newlyweds. There is speculation that the couple might turn their wedding festivities into a documentary, with film crews spotted around Madison Square Garden since June 29.
Ahead of the ceremony, Swift and Kelce donated $26 million to various charities, including food banks, children’s hospitals, music and education programs, and animal welfare organizations. The generous donations left many non-profit organizations stunned and grateful, expressing their appreciation on social media platforms like Instagram.
