Canucks’ Tyler Myers Fined $2,500 for Slashing McDavid

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers has received a $2,500 fine from the NHL Department of Safety for a slashing incident involving Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid. The incident took place at 8:25 of the third period during the Canucks’ recent 3-1 loss to the Oilers. Myers made contact with McDavid in the groin area with his stick as McDavid was heading towards the net without the puck. Although no penalty was initially called, Myers was later penalized for delay of game at 9:07 of the same period.
