Mix-ups and mistaken identities are quite common occurrences. However, at Felicia Harding’s recent wedding on Vancouver Island, guests found it challenging to differentiate between the bride and her friend Brittany Delaney. Despite the bride wearing a white dress, the two women, both petite with brown curly hair, bangs, and wide smiles, were often mistaken for each other not only by attendees but also by the groom himself.
Brittany Delaney, residing in St. Albert, Alberta, and owning the Confections Cake Company, shared her experience of the confusion during the wedding reception. Felicia Harding, a musician living on Vancouver Island, also recalled friends acknowledging Delaney’s presence thinking it was her, despite Harding being in a wedding dress.
The uncanny resemblance between the two women has been a recurring theme in their friendship since they first met. Delaney, running a business in St. Albert, and Harding, based in Victoria, initially connected online after a social media post highlighted their similar features. Intrigued by the likeness, they started conversing and eventually formed a close bond over the years.
Their friendship deepened further when they discovered their shared West Coast roots, growing up just hours apart on Vancouver Island. Not only do they resemble each other physically, but they also share entrepreneurial spirits, similar voices, and mannerisms.
Their bond has grown so strong that Delaney even baked Harding’s wedding cake and personally delivered it to the island for the celebration. The duo’s closeness prompted them to undergo a DNA test to explore the nature of their connection. Results revealed that they are not biologically related, but they plan to gather more data from relatives to delve deeper into their genetic similarities.
Despite the absence of familial ties, their friendship remains a significant aspect of their lives, transcending mere physical resemblances. Delaney’s son continues to mistake Harding for his mother in photos and videos, while Harding herself often finds herself taken aback by Delaney’s images online, emphasizing the ongoing intrigue of their striking resemblance.
